    Responsibilities & Verification

Role of District Level Committees (20PP)

In order to bring transparency in implementation of various schemes, committees of public representatives at State, District, and Block levels are formed.Complaints received from the public are examined and redressal measures are taken. In some cases, enquiries can also be constituted from the State Level.

A provision exists for the Deputy Chairman (District Level) to hold quarterly review meetings under intimation to the Hon’ble Minister in charge of the district.
Verification of reported works, as received from the concerned departments in the DSTO’s office, is conducted through district Task Force members.
Cases of false or family-based reporting are brought to the notice of the Deputy Chairman.

State Level 20PP Committee: Physical verification of schemes by the District Level Committee includes logistical support such as transportation being
provided by the concerned department. If the department does not have a vehicle, the District Magistrate (DM) can make alternate arrangements.

District/Divisional Level Task Force Committee: To investigate the quality of works, task forces at the district and divisional levels have been
constituted as per Government Order No. 871/20 lw=h -5/2004-05 dated 6 August 2004. According to this order, a committee comprising 5–6 officers is to be
nominated in each district and division. Each officer will visit at least 25 units, thereby ensuring that 125 units are verified by the committee in a month.
