Ranking/Non-ranking Programme
- To foster competitiveness in the implementation of schemes among districts, monthly monitoring of 26 programmes is carried out by assigning performance ranks at the district level.

As per Government of India norms, programme performance is categorized into four levels:
- Category A: 100% achievement of periodical targets – awarded 3 marks.
- Category B: 80% to 99.99% achievement – awarded 2 marks.
- Category C: 60% to 79.99% achievement – awarded 1 mark.
- Category D: Below 60% achievement – awarded -1 mark.

Two specific programmes – Net Deposits in the National Saving Schemes and Publication of Lists of Works – are assigned double weightage. For these:
- Category A: 6 marks
- Category B: 4 marks
- Category C: 2 marks
- Category D: -3 marks
- Non-ranking programmes are monitored occasionally and are not part of the monthly ranking system.
